“Claire is a star… or something.”
Anonymous, for Theatre Kid Rehab, 2023
Claire Jolie Goodman, born November 13th, 2002, is completely aware that she has always been and will always be a terrible theatre kid. At six, Claire enrolled in her first class at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights, IL. She has continued to study performance since then, and still occasionally works with Metropolis’ School of the Performing Arts.
In 2019, Claire dropped out of High School in order to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. 2020 brought both a pandemic and incessant internet bullying, however, and she made the decision to shift her focus to comedy writing and performance. Since then, Claire has remained in the Chicago area, studying with Columbia College Chicago, The Second City, and many private instructors.
In 2022, Claire began writing her award-winning solo musical comedy, Theatre Kid Rehab, which was originally produced for Elgin Fringe Festival. After a hugely successful first run, and a BroadwayWorld Award, Claire went on to perform the show at multiple other venues around the Chicago area between 2023 and 2025.
In recent months, Claire has restarted her private voice studio at South Elgin’s Music Education Center of America, where she helps young performers build their unique voice on a foundation of healthy technique. Additionally, her original short play, A Play I Wrote in Fourth Grade, is currently in production with Steel Beam Theatre in St. Charles, with Claire herself directing.
Outside of her theatrical work, Claire enjoys spending time with her little siblings, supporting her friends’ artistic endeavors, and teaching makeup and skincare through her business, Big Sister Beauty.
